By the time it neared the end of the auction, it was up to $46. There’s no way it would be had so cheaply, I knew this. And I wasn’t going to repeat my previous mistakes with such high-value targets, where I try to snipe for less than I would be willing to pay, only to miss my quarry at the last second… No. For the next several days, I have the money to back my play. It’s time for the high-caliber rounds. This game will be mine.
At the 20 second mark, I sniped an autobid for a little over $200. (I like to add arbitrary odd dollars/cents to my bids to out-maneuver peoples’ autobids.) It topped the high bidder’s autobid of $100, now I just had to wait and hope… A bid… $132.88, pushing my autobid to $135.38… Not from the same guy? Another sniper? And even using a similar strategy to my own! At this point however, the sniper and attempted-ninja was confronted with the fact that he was still not the high bidder. I imagine that, as has happened to me countless times, the auction ended as he was frantically lining up another shot.
Sorry man, we both wanted it, but I wanted it more. Boom, headshot.
