So, I loaded up GroovyGameGear I bought a board, some Happ Horizontal pushbuttons, and a Happ Competition joystick, and I was off to the races. I also picked up some simple tools from them, like a Multimeter and a wire stripper. (I think it’s worth noting that their prices are nearly HALF what Happ sells direct for. Spiffy.)

Next stop was Jameco. I’ve been getting their catalog for like ten years, but had never ordered anything from them… Figured they’d have the stuff I needed, like molex connectors and wire and whatnot… Even better! Upon looking for said connectors, I found that they sell ATX powersupply extension cables! Plenty of wire, and the connectors I was looking for. Woot. So, I ordered all that stuff.

Basically, it came to $80 for one player…but it’ll only be another $20 to add the second player. That’s including a handful of one-time purchases, like the multimeter and various tools.

This was last Friday, the following Monday, all the stuff arrived… It was time to go to work!
