Formula XPERT - 17th Hillside Grand Prix

GRID 1
Schmetterling Labor

17th Hillside Grand Prix, 2nd Match

-VERSUS-
GRID 2

GPMoD.com

HRS Eins

Round 1
-VERSUS-

Fenrir

Video

The Fenrir proved to be too slow for the HRS Eins. However, given the score, it really could've gone either way. Falling behind immediately, I feared the worst.

HRS Eins

Round 2
-VERSUS-

Arbalest

Video

GPMoD.com's second AC, the Arbalest, didn't waste much time mopping up the HRS Eins, which was to be expected given how much damage the Eins suffered in the previous round.

HRS Zwei

Round 3
-VERSUS-

Arbalest

Video

Schmetterling Labor's second AC, the HRS Zwei, may be a fast mover, but its weapons are far too slow to consistantly hit anything faster than a heavy AC. When they do hit, however, it really counts. And eventually the Arbalest falls to it.

HRS Zwei

Round 4
-VERSUS-

Linebacker

Video

GPMoD.com's third AC, the Linebacker, is the team's only Super-Heavy. Packing dual Ettin laser cannons, and the back-mounted Chimera laser cannon that takes up both back hardpoints. I was really worried when it became obvious that Zwei moved almost too fast for the Linebacker to hit... But in the end, the Zwei succombs to a massive point-blank laser blast.

HRS Drei
Round 5

-VERSUS-

Linebacker

Video

Schmetterling Labor's third AC, the...you guessed it, HRS Drei, has the same loadout as the Linebacker, this was worrying in that the Linebacker just went through a rather long fight, and I wasn't sure it'd be capable of going one-on-one with a similarly-equipped AC. Somehow, it managed to give more than it took, and turned around the score, putting GPMoD.com on top for the first time in the match.

HRS Vier

Round 6
-VERSUS-

Linebacker

Video

Schmetterling's fourth AC, the HRS Vier, seemed almost pupose-built for chewing up heavies; it moved incredibly fast, owing to its OB core, and had a devestating pair of CR-WH79M2 gattling guns. It made terribly short work of the Linebacker, which could barely land a single blow on the fast-moving HRS Vier.

HRS Vier
Round 7

-VERSUS-

Stiletto

Video

GPMoD.com's fourth AC, is the ill-conceived, or at the very least, mistakenly sortied, Stiletto. The Stiletto is designed from the ground up to do two things: Lay down constant fire with its Pixie3 submachinegun, and do serious damage with its Moonlight laserblade. Obviously, that kind of fighting works better on heavies, which don't move fast enough to counter, and are easier to evade. It ultimately failed against a faster AC.

HRS Vier

Round 8
-VERSUS-

Torrent

Video

Things are looking grim for GPMoD.com, I had no idea how well the fourth AC, the Torrent, would do against anything, let alone an almost identical design. It was able to finish off the HRS Vier after the Vier ran out of ammo for its twin gattling guns, but I became concerned with the overheating caused by its hover chassis. Would it hold up in the next fight?

HRS Funf

Round 9
-VERSUS-

Torrent

Video

The announcer makes clear to us that this is the last round, I wonder how well the Torrent will hold up against the HRS Funf, after all, the Torrent has already been through a troubling fight... The HRS Funf is fiercely armed, with two CR-WH98GL hand-held grenade launchers, and two WH068L-ORC hand-held blasters for backups. it can dish out far more damage than the Torrent can take...but how fast does it move? When it takes off like a shot as the 'Go!' is given, I can feel my stomach churning. But just when it looks like it's over for the Torrent, and team GPMoD.com, the HRS Funf RUNS OUT OF AMMO, he'd already switched to his ORCs, which he then discarded, leaving him completely without offensive capabilities! He did manage to do a fairly good job evading the Torrent's fire, but eventually fell to the twin gattling guns.

In the end, the new GPMoD.com armored cores won the day, and provided me with a lot to think about, design-wise.
