...why there is no GPMoD comic.

So, I’ve had this fucking Aiptek 12x9 utter POS tablet for a couple years now, but almost never use it because it SUCKS. And this morning, for the second time in as many months, I went on a rampage searching for the stylus to see if the new drivers make it any less of a POS. The following took place in #moe… (Log after the jump…because it’s huge.)

Downtime, the Human Kind.

Ugh. Yesterday and today… God. I really don’t know what’s going on. Either I’ve been overextending myself lately, or it’s the lack of caffeine or what… Yesterday, I didn’t get up until 5pm, and then I went to sleep again at 11pm… Only to wake up at 3am and stay up until 6am… And then waking up again at 2pm, thinking it couldn’t not be 5pm…

Anyway, hopefully I can get back on the ball tonight once I have a chance to thin the blood levels in my caffeine system.

Oh, and for the uninitiated, that previous post (The huge image one) is a teaser for the GPMoD Magazine World in Conflict in-depth review.

Mountain Dew Game Fuel

As many of you know, I’ve been totally addicted to Mountain Dew Livewire lately, both for its high caffeine content, and for its actually tolerable taste. (It’s quite delicious, in fact.)

The one problem is, I can only get it in 20oz bottles…which are $1.39 a piece, despite the fact that in some areas they sell Livewire in 2 liter bottles and 12-packs. (A much cheaper solution) So, I gave in and tried Mountain Dew Game Fuel. (I don’t even like Halo.) Got a 2 liter for less than a buck.

Be warned that un-cold, it tastes horrid. It tastes like someone tried to make Hawaiian Punch soda, and failed horribly. (I’ve never had Code Red, but I’m told that Game Fuel is basically Code Red plus citrus flavor) Cold, it’s a bit better… But it’s BEST frozen, whirred up, and poured into a cup. (With some percentage of unfrozen soda added.) Like that, it’s actually pretty good. Oh yeah, and it also has like twice the caffeine as regular Mountain Dew.

Little Updates (Part 4)

Well, my World in Conflict Collector’s Edition box has shipped, I will have it around lunchtime tomorrow, which is release day.

In other news, you probably noticed that I made even more changes to the page in the last couple hours, even changing the frontpage’s stylesheets just a little. This whole thing looks pretty slick, no?

Project Baka'cade - Part 1 - Baka'troller

So a couple weeks ago, I got the urge to play some good ol’ fighting games. Not just on my PS2 or something, mind you… Real arcade fighters. So I broke out MAME and got my hands on some ROMs… It was fun, but something was missing… I was playing them with a Dual-Shock2, which wasn’t really suited to the task.

I saw an arcade controller on Play-Asia a while back, and it got me thinking…

I mean, I know people have built their own upright cabinets to play MAME, and there’s plenty of commercial solutions out there… How much would it cost to build something like that? It turns out, not much. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Little Updates... (Part 3)

09/17/07 @ 06:19:32 pm, Categories: Life of Baka, Site News, 50 words, 933 views

There’s a bunch of games I’d like to talk about at some point in the near future (Other than World in Conflict), such as Toribash, and Armadillo Run. Great games! Check them out. A major revision of Toribash comes out at the end of October, I’m looking forward to it.

Little Updates... (Part 2)

I got the equipment for the radio show from Musician’s Fucker…finally. Only took them 58 days to send me stuff that was IN STOCK. Good job, fuckers. At any rate, this means we might just have a podcast soon.

I’ve been real busy with various things lately, only a few of them have to do with the site or anything really at all interesting… Certainly the Baka’troller and Baka’cade projects are of interest to my very limited readership.

Little Updates... (Part 1)

Well, for starters, World in Conflict comes out tomorrow. So unless Gamestop drops the ball, I’ll have it then. I preordered the C.E. so it comes with all sorts of nifty crap. (Like a piece of the Berlin Wall, lol)

As you can see, I’ve been doing some updates to the site, they’re pretty spiffy actually. I especially like the collapsible posts.

Strange Progressions.

09/17/07 @ 02:22:44 pm, Categories: Site News, 225 words, 956 views

So, I’ve made some changes to the skin for the site, as well as installing various plugins to make things more interesting. Amusingly enough, although I immediately saw the potential uses on my site for these plugins, the reason I’m installing them here is to give them a test run for a site I’m putting together for someone else. :D Figures, don’t it?

So, I’ve added collapsible posts (Anything past the first three on the page) throughout. Embedded music players with file info and download links to the GPMoD Radio site. (Embedded player still not finalized, though it works fine) And I’m still working on installing an in-post gallery plugin site-wide. (Like the galleries on Kotaku.) As well as a category icon/author avatar plugin.

Content wise, I have a little catching up to do. I need to finish up my in-depth report on World in Conflict, although I doubt it will be before the retail hits tomorrow, actually post some info about the Baka’troller and my upcoming project of sheer awesomeness.

I also want to move the talk of games and anime (More than just in passing) to the magazine site, which I haven’t put up yet, and begin posting on my regular blog as close to daily as possible, if only to just share some thoughts for the day and whatever’s going on.
